A small flat within a historic residential building in Vienna has been transformed into a new family home:
The tresholds between the rooms are generated by different transitional elements.
An interpretation of a Serlian motif between the vestibule and the kitchen form a visual link and help to bring light into the internal kitchen, an opening with a folding door enables to interconnect two rooms and superimpose the program of a living room and a children’s room, two concealed doors hide a small bathroom.
To use the volume of the flat to its full capacity storage spaces are placed over the bathroom and the cupboard in the kitchen. A bed is placed over the cabinet of the children’s room.
